PhD Candidates Nafisa Yeasmin and Joonas Vola from the Northern political economy research team at the Arctic Centre have received grants for their PhD dissertations.
Nafisa Yeasmin has received a one-year grant of 22,000 euros from the
Ella and Georg Ehrnrooth Foundation, a grant of 5,000 euros from the
Yrjö Uitto Foundation, and a grant of 3,000 euros from the Oskar Öflund
Foundation (Oskar Öflunds Stiftelse). She is writing her PhD
dissertation on sustainable immigration policy in the Barents region.
Joonas
Vola has received a grant of 3,000 euros from the Oskar Öflund
Foundation (Oskar Öflunds Stiftelse). He is writing his PhD dissertation
on Arctic themed science exhibition and the ways how to mediate the
socio-political dimension via the visual-material culture and service
design.
