Italian-Finnish Arctic seminar

Italian and Finnish Arctic experts, researchers and business representatives meet together in Rovaniemi on Tuesday, March 12, in a seminar “Italian-Finnish Cooperation in the Arctic Region: A Great Opportunity”.

The overall objective of the seminar is to strengthen the Finnish-Italian bilateral relations in the Arctic allowing new opportunities of joint participation based on partnership in research, entrepreneurship, social and cultural projects as well as initiatives at bilateral, EU, international and multilateral level.

The seminar’s specific goal is twofold: 1) a firsthand update of Finland’s policy and strategies in the Arctic, underscoring the industrial and technological development projects and the development of the economic, natural, environmental, socio-cultural resources; 2) to assess new opportunities for investment, business, research projects and partnership development as well as highlight Italian and Finnish know-how and expertise.

The seminar is organized by the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Institute of Culture in Helsinki, under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in collaboration with the Arctic Centre, e-GEOS and the Finnish Meteorological Institute.

Deadline for registrations is Thursday, March 7. The seminar language is English.

The event will take place in the Artkikum House, Pohjoisranta 4, Rovaniemi.
