José-Carlos García-Rosell named Social Media Editor of Business & Society

27.5.2019

José-Carlos García-Rosell (PhD, Management), Senior Lecturer of Responsible Tourism Business at the Multidimensional Tourism Institute (MTI), has been appointed as Social Media Editor of Business & Society. As a social media editor, García-Rosell works with the journal editor team to produce and disseminate accessible social media content for both academic and non-academic audiences working in the field of business in society.

“This is an exciting and gratifying opportunity to work as the social media editor of one the leading corporate social responsibility (CSR) journals. I am privileged to serve in this capacity,” said García-Rosell. “Even though the position requires a high level of commitment and constant communication with different audiences, I believe taking responsibility for the social media content of the journal is extremely rewarding and a great learning opportunity.”

Founded in 1960, Business & Society was the first journal exclusively dedicated to publishing research in the field of business and society. It is the official journal of the International Association of Business and Society and a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Business & Society has one of the largest social media communities among management journals.

García-Rosell defended his doctoral dissertation on sustainable marketing in 2013 and since then, he has continued working in the field of CSR and sustainable business. He has published his research in several book chapters and articles in academic journals such as Management Learning, Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Sustainable Tourism. García-Rosell worked as the Research Leader of Animals and Responsible Tourism, a research project funded by Business Finland under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), during the period 01.08.2016-31.07.2018. In the project, he was also responsible for the production of social media content. One of his current research interest is exploring the role of social media in promoting CSR learning and the dissemination of academic knowledge among no-academic audiences.
