The ETMU conference is an annual event organized by the Society for the Study of Ethnic Relations and International Migration. The theme of the 2018 conference is “Vulnerability, Resilience and Resistance in Diverse Societies”. The aim of the conference is to reflect on the meanings, effects and resistances towards vulnerability in the context of mobility, migration and minoritization. The conference will be held at Åbo Akademi University, Turku, Finland.

Prof. Julian Reid has been invited to give a keynote speech at the conference. In his talk he will address the main conference themes, and talk about the limits of discourses of vulnerability, resilience and resistance, with particular reference to indigenous minorities internationally.
