One of the most important theorists in international politics, Professor Friedrich Kratochwil will give a keynote lecture at the international workshop at the University of Lapland, on Friday, October 12.
Professor Friedrich Kratochwil is one of the most important theorists in international politics. His book “Rules, Norms and Decisions” (Cambridge University Press, 1989) is a classic which introduced constructivism to the field of international relations. He has published widely and insightfully on international relations, social theory, international organization, and international law in some of the most appreciated journals in Europe and North America.
He has taught at the Maryland, Princeton, Columbia, Denver and Pennsylvania Universities before returning to Europe. Later, he held the chair in international politics first at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich and later at the European University Institute, Florence. He is currently affiliated with the Central European University in Budapest.
Professori Kratochwil will give the keynote lecture at the international workshop at the University of Lapland, Fellman Hall, on Friday, October 12, from 2 pm to 3 pm. His title is Politics, Law and the Sacred – A Conceptual Analysis. The lecture is open to all interested.
The other lectures at the workshop are open to all interested, too. The theme of the workshop is “The political theology of liberalism: Power, resistance, eschatology”.
