Lectures on the Indian Reservations in the United States

Professor Klaus Frantz from the Department of Geography, University of Innsbruck, Austria, will give two lectures at the University of Lapland on September 13 and 17. Professor Frantz has studied especially the social, economical and political status of the Northern American Indians.

The first lecture “The Salt River Indian Reservation – Land use conflicts and aspects of socioeconomic change on the outskirts of Metro-Phoenix, Arizona” will take place on Thu 13 September 2012 at 12–14 at the Arctic Centre. After the lecture, professor Frantz will give information about the post-graduate students’ exchange possibilities to the University of Innsbruck.

The second visitor lecture "Gated communities in the USA – the case of Metro-Phoenix" will take place on Monday 17 at 15.30–18.00 at the Lecture room 9, University of Lapland. After the lecture Professor Frantz will tell about the Erasmus exchange possibilities at the University of Innsbruck.
