New Expert Activities for Research Professor Monica Tennberg

Research Professor Monica Tennberg, from the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland, has been invited to join two Nordic forums for experts. The activities are related to her research on adaptation to climate change in the Arctic.

Tennberg has been invited to a Nordic group of experts to develop an Arctic theme for the top research initiative program (TFI) of Nordforsk, a Nordic research funding and coordinating agency. A workshop will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark in the beginning of October to discuss the topic. The event is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Tennberg has also been invited to join a scientific committee for the Second Nordic Conference on Adaptation to Climate Change, to be held in Helsinki, August 29–31, 2012. The conference seeks to “identify common ground between adaptation research and adaptation decision-making by comparing experiences, reporting new insights and revealing key gaps in knowledge”. The scientific committee is led by research professor Timothy Carter from the Finnish Environment Centre.

Tennberg leads the Sustainable Developlment Research Group at the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland.
