Outi Snellman Appointed as Hokkaido University Ambassador
12.6.2018
Outi Snellman, Director of International Relations of the University of Lapland, has been appointed as Hokkaido University Ambassador.
Ms Snellman’s role as Ambassador is to enhance academic relations between Hokkaido University and universities in the northern parts of Europe. As she also holds the position of Vice-President Organization within the University of the Arctic (UArctic), the natural context for her new role is the UArctic network and in particular its members in the Nordic countries. Hokkaido University has been a member of UArctic since 2011.
A brief appointment ceremony took place on the campus of Hokkaido University on June 6, 2018. The Letter of Appointment was handed to Ms Snellman by Dr Masanori Kasahara, Executive Director and Vice President of Hokkaido University.
Hokkaido University has been appointing University Ambassadors to support and strengthen their global network, community and international public relations activities since April 2016. To date, 31 Ambassadors have been appointed.
