Sapporo City University and the University of Lapland to start cooperation

The rectors of the Sapporo City University and the University of Lapland signed a cooperation agreement in Rovaniemi on Wednesday, 5 August 2015.

The Sapporo City University, located on the island of Hokkaido, is focused on design and nursing. The University of Lapland will become its fifth international partner, and also its first non-Asian partner university. At the University of Lapland the cooperation will mostly focus on the Faculty of Art and Design, and it is closely linked to the cooperation between the cities of Rovaniemi and Sapporo as well.

Sapporo City University is one of the strategic partners of the University of Lapland. In its cooperation with Japanese partners, one of the aims of the University of Lapland is to strengthen cooperation on Arctic issues with the partner universities in Hokkaido.
