The Academy of Finland's September 2014 call for applications

28.7.2014

The Academy of Finland's September 2014 call for applications is now available online. Applications can be submitted in the online services as of Monday 1 September. The deadline is Wednesday 24 September at 16:15. The deadlines for international calls may differ from the Academy’s main deadline.

Based on feedback received from international reviewers, the Academy has revised the research plan guidelines. The research plan is the most important appendix to the application. The Academy also emphasises the importance of writing a popular and accessible project description.

A number of new guidelines and practices come with the September 2014 call. The Academy encourages researchers to publish open access and make their data available. From now on, the funding for research projects can also be used to cover costs of open access publishing. The Academy will also change the calculation of mobility allowances. Another change is the extension of the funding period for clinical researchers, from three to four years. Read more about the changes here: September 2014 call: What's new?
