The Academy of Finland's September 2014 call for applications is now available online. Applications can be submitted in the online services as of Monday 1 September. The deadline is Wednesday 24 September at 16:15. The deadlines for international calls may differ from the Academy’s main deadline.
Based on feedback received from
international reviewers, the Academy has revised the research plan
guidelines. The research plan is the most important appendix to the
application. The Academy also emphasises the importance of writing a
popular and accessible project description.
A number of new
guidelines and practices come with the September 2014 call. The Academy
encourages researchers to publish open access and make their data
available. From now on, the funding for research projects can also be
used to cover costs of open access publishing. The Academy will also
change the calculation of mobility allowances. Another change is the
extension of the funding period for clinical researchers, from three to
