The University of Lapland’s Coronavirus Guidelines update regarding at-home COVID-19 tests

18.1.2022

The Lapland Hospital District has decided to stop issuing quarantine orders to people exposed to COVID-19 who are fully vaccinated or who have had COVID-19 and recovered over the past two months. They are recommended to avoid unnecessary close contacts for a period of five days and take at-home COVID-19 tests. People exposed to COVID-19 who are not vaccinated or have had one vaccine dose are ordered to quarantine for five days. Further information on what you should do if you are exposed to COVID-19 or have been ordered to quarantine is available from the health authorities of your place of residence.

Staff members and students who have been exposed to COVID-19 can get an at-home COVID-19 test (two test kits per person) from the Facility Officers at the information desks on the University of Lapland main campus. If you currently have COVID-19 or have been ordered to quarantine, do not come to campus to get at-home COVID-19 tests.

The University of Lapland will no longer notify the university community of exposure to COVID-19 on campus, because in the current COVID-19 situation, exposure can occur anywhere. The health authorities will contact people exposed through close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
