Top Finnish digital business professionals to convene at the University of Lapland on 8–9 December

3.12.2015

The University of Lapland and Digile will host the Need for Speed (N4S) assembly in Rovaniemi between 8 and 9 December 2015. More than a hundred members from 40 organisations of the N4S consortium will participate in the assembly held in the Faculty of Art and Design. The N4S program will create the foundation for Finnish software-intensive businesses in the new digital economy.

The event will include a seminar, meetings, and the Demo Bazaar that presents the results of the N4S program. The keynote speakers will be Lars Heidenreich, Head of Volkswagen Group Business Development, and Professor Sohail Inayatullah from Tamkang University, Taiwan.

The N4S program is carried out by leading Finnish software companies. The N4S consortium consists of 13 large industrial organizations, 16 SMEs, and 11 research institutes and universities. The University of Lapland is represented in the consortium by the Service Design Team of the Department of Industrial Design.

Digile is one of the Strategic Centres for Science, Technology and Innovation (SHOK). The N4S program makes use of the results gained from existing Digile programs focusing on the new challenges in customer understanding, real-time value production and quicksilver business. Digile’s four-year N4S program (2014–2017) is partly funded by Tekes.
