Transitions in Arktikum: Library moves, Galleries open

Arctic Centre Library moves to the new premises in the Arktikum house. The library is closed for packing and removal from January 16th to February 5th. Old premises will be modified to galleries of the Faculty of Art and Design, University of Lapland.

The Arctic Centre Library will start in the new premises (next to Arktikum Café) on Monday, 6th of February at 10 am. During the removal books can be check in to other libraries of the Lapland University Consortium. Check out is possible only after the library is open in the new premises.

The galleries of the Faculty of Art and Design will be situated in three different places. Galleries Valo and Katve will be in the Arktikum house. Galleries Kajo 1, Kajo 2 and Kajo 3 will be in Siljotie (in “Rotko”), and galleries Lyhty and Kilo are planned to be in the main university.

New galleries in the Arktikum house will be open in Rovaniemi Design Week 2012 on Monday, 20th February. The exhibition will include artwork of the staff of Faculty of Art and Design.
