The annual meeting of Nordic researchers and teachers of legal informatics is held at the University of Lapland on November 23–25. This year the conference discusses the challenges of communication in the public sector, as well as the effectiveness of data protection in the network society.
The conference will bring together the Nordic experts of legal informatics. The first day of the conference is reserved for the presentations of the PhD students. During the second and third day the Nordic professors and other experts present the current issues of legal informatics.
The keynote speakers include among others Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman, Mr. Reijo Aarnio who presents the European trends in legislation of data protection, Professor Cecilia Magnusson Sjöberg (Stockholm University) who is an expert of e-governance and publishing of legal information, as well as Professor Peter Blume (University of Copenhagen) and Professor Dag Wiese Schartum (University of Oslo) who are experts of high repute on European data protection.
The Nordic Conference on Legal Informatics – Nordiska konferensen i rättsinformatik was held for the first time in Stockholm in 1984. Every Nordic country organizes the conference by turns. This year it is Finland’s turn and the organization responsible of the arrangements is the Institute of Law and Informatics at the University of Lapland.
