Johanna Buchert, the new Chair of the Board.

Johanna Buchert, the new Chair of the Board, has worked as president and CEO of the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) since 2018. Prior to her position as president and CEO, she worked as Director General for Research at Luke and in research and management positions at VTT. Buchert holds a doctorate in chemical engineering. Olli Väyrynen, M.Sc. (Eng.), Finavia's Business Development Director, will continue as the Vice Chair from the previous term of the Board.

– I am excited about the opportunity to chair the Board. I believe that a strategically active board will be able to support the university's operative management and strengthen the university's impact scientifically, educationally and nationally, not to mention its regional impact, says Johanna Buchert.
