University will continue the bus service between campuses

16.2.2012

The University of Lapland will continue the bus service between the main campus and the premises of the Faculty of Art and Design. The service is available from Monday to Friday until May 18, 2012.

The bus leaves from the main campus and drives first to Rotko campus (next to the railway station), and from Rotko campus via Toripuistikko (downtown) to Pöykkölä campus and back.

The service is available from Monday to Friday until May 18. There is no bus service during the spring break (March 5–9) and on midweek holidays (Good Friday, April 6; Easter Monday, April 9; Monday before May Day, April 30; May Day, May 1; and Ascension Day, May 17). Check the timetable here.

The service is available free of charge only for the University students and staff who need the transportation between the campuses to carry out their studies, artistic work, research and other duties.

Due to the renovation of the premises of the Faculty of Art and Design, the Faculty is now located in three different campuses in Rovaniemi. The studies of audiovisual media culture, graphic design, industrial design, and textile and clothing design are now located in Pöykkölä campus; and the studies of art education, fine art, and cultural studies are located next to the railway station in Rotko campus. Through the bus service, the University wants to make it easier for the students and staff to move between the different campuses, and thus to facilitate studies, artistic work, and research during the renovation.
