KEYNOTES

Sue Dockett:
Sue Dockett is Emeritus Professor of Early Childhood Education at Charles Sturt University, Albury, Australia. Sue started her career as an early childhood teacher, working in both preschool and early years of school settings, before entering the tertiary sector in 1988. Since then, she has undertaken a wide range of teaching and research roles. Much of Sue's research has focused on educational transitions - in particular, transitions to school and the expectations, experiences and perceptions of all involved. This research has been published widely, and has had substantial impact on policy, practice and research. Complementing her research around educational transitions is research that incorporates children's perspectives, engages with families in diverse contexts, reflects upon the practices of educators, and explores the importance of working with communities.

Bob Perry:
Bob Perry is recently retired from paid university work after 45 years in higher education. He is Emeritus Professor at Charles Sturt University, Albury-Wodonga, Australia and Director, Peridot Education Pty Ltd. His doctoral graduates and current candidates along with other projects, including educational evaluations in Queensland and Victoria, and writing and editing seem to keep him just about as busy as he used to be when working for the university. Bob's current research interests include powerful mathematics ideas in preschool and the first years of school; ethical tensions in researching with children; transition to school, with particular emphasis on starting school within families with complex support needs, preschool education in remote Indigenous communities, and evaluation of educational programs. Bob shares life with his partner, Sue Dockett, and their son, Will.

Liisa Holmberg
Liisa Holmberg is Film Commissioner in International Sami Film Institute (ISFI). Before that, she was the rector of Sami Education Institute for 9 years and in total worked in the Institute for almost 30 years. Holmberg was elected as chair of the Council of Arctic University in 2016.
