UNESCO celebrates World Teachers' Day 2020

UNESCO will have series of virtual events with the theme "Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future" to celebrate World Teachers' Day 2020 on October 5-12.

This year, World Teachers’ Day (WTD) will celebrate teachers with the theme “Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future” to recognize the hard work of teachers worldwide who worked tirelessly to ensure that learning continued during the pandemic and beyond.

Events are entirely virtual and run from 5 to 12 October. The programme is updated regularly as links become available, so please check back often. All events are open to the public at no cost.
