Participatory Photography with Women’s Rights Activists in Nepal: Towards a Practice of Decolonial Feminist Solidarity?
Tiina Seppälä
The participatory photography workshops were co-organised with Nepal Mahila Ekata Samaj (NMES) and Women’s Rehabilitation Center (WOREC) in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2014. During that summer, NMES and WOREC also organised together several dharnas (protests) where we all participated, for example, in a sit-in-protest against gendered violence in Bhadrakali, and the ‘Stop Rape’ protest in New Baneswhor.
For more information on the important, long-term work that NMES and WOREC activists are doing with regard to women’s rights, please visit: NMES Facebook and the WOREC Website.
