Kirsi-Maria Halonen

Senior lecturer, Title of Docent

Currently I hold a post of a Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Lapland and have been granted Adjunct Professorship (Title of Docent) in Commercial Law, with a specialization to Public Procurement Law at the University of Turku. My research interest focus on public procurement rules, administrative law, EU state aid regulation and contract law. All these aforementioned fields of law are closely connected to our society and welfare. Private sector has, to a greater extent, assumed tasks and responsibilities of the public sector, which in turn has increased the impact of public sector regulation and activities to the market. Thus, public sector market regulation has an important role in building welfare.
