Venue
The conference scientific programme and welcoming dinner will be held at Royal Reindeer in Rovaniemi, Finland. The meeting venue is located about three kilometers from the city centre, on top of Ounasvaara.
The city of Rovaniemi is the vibrant capital of Lapland. Rovaniemi, called the Gate of Lapland, is located at the northern Arctic in the northernmost part of Finland, at the Arctic Circle. With a land area of 8016 km2 it is Finland’s and Europe’s largest town, with a population of over 60,000. This small but modern city offers a unique combination of urban services and the beautiful natural environment of Lapland, and is located at the junction of the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers. It is a university city, the commercial centre for the area and a city of sport and culture. Four different seasons are strongly present in the peoples’ day life and they give a rhythm for living and activities.

Getting to Rovaniemi
It is very easy to get to Rovaniemi. There are frequent direct flights from all over Europe to Helsinki, and also easy connections from major cities on the other continents. Helsinki airport has regularly been voted as one of the best in the world. There are several daily flights from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. By air it takes only about one hour from Helsinki to Rovaniemi.
You can also travel from Helsinki to Rovaniemi by train and see how the nature changes from south to north. Overnight trains with sleeping cabins offer a comfortable way of traveling at night. From Helsinki to Rovaniemi it takes about 12–13 hours.
