Your username

When you become a student at our university, you receive an email account and a username for logging in to Peppi, Moodle, email, classroom workstations and the wireless network.

Activating your username

In order to activate your user account and begin your studies you will need to authenticate your identity.

If you have a right to study at our university, your account may be activated with a Finnish online banking account or with a mobile certificate on the web site https://iam.luc.fi/.

International students receive further instructions via email on how to authenticate your identity and get your user account.

You can also get your user account on campus in the orientation or by visiting the University Helpdesk.

Changing your password

You should change your password regularly. If your password has expired but you can still remember it, you can change it at https://pwd.luc.fi.

Two-factor authentication (or MFA, multifactor authentication)

Two-factor authentication protects your user account and data from unauthorized access even if you fall victim to a phishing.

In addition to your username and password, two-factor authentication is done either by answering a phone call, using a six-digit code received as a text message, or by using a smartphone app, Microsoft Authenticator. Authenticator app is the most recommended and easiest way to use the two-factor authentication.

This app is available for Android devices from the Google Play Store and iOS devices from the Apple App Store.

Your phone is an important part of two-factor authentication.

Secure printing

We use the secure printing service FollowMe. Besides printing, you can also scan and send documents to your email. In order to print, you need printing balance. Each student has a "starting balance" of 5€ at the beginning of each academic year. Additional print credit can be purchased at LUC lipbraries, minimum purchase 5€.

ICT classrooms

Self-study room and the F-Hub

The F-Hub is located on the ground floor of the Faculty of Arts and Design. The facilities include a silent reading room, a multi-purpose room for group work, printing, scanning, reading, studying, or just for relaxing, and a reference library.
