The personnel Windows laptops and tablets connect automatically to the wireless LUC network. The wireless network provides nearly all the same services as the wired network.
On other devices, such as smart phones, other tablets and Apple Mac computers, you can connect to the Eduroam network.
Connect your device to the Eduroam network. Enter your username in the form of username@luc.fi with the password you use when logging in to your email.

Eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, worldwide wireless network access service that is used in various research and educational institutions in over 70 countries. It enables an easy and fast access to Internet with only one login.
We use the secure printing service FollowMe. You can release your print jobs with your printing key (the same as your electronic key) from any printer in our premises. The print jobs remain in the queue for 24 hours, after which time they will be automatically deleted.
You can turn to the University of Lapland Printing Centre for large print jobs. You can also ask for quotes from other printing houses.

You can access your email through a web browser (Outlook Web App, OWA). You can also add your email account to the email application on your workstation or smart device (e.g. Outlook or Mail).

Zoom is a realtime video conferencing and messaging service, which functions much in the same way as Microsoft Teams. Zoom enables the most common functions used in teaching and online meetings. Moodle-integration allows teachers to create Zoom-meettings within Moodle. Zoom-recordings are saved in the video sharing service Kaltura. From Kaltura may recordings be shared to Moodle.
Kaltura is a video sharing service, this service serves as a platform from where Zoom-recodings are shared to students. Kaltura can also be used in teaching to share other instructional videos or to receive videos made by students.

Microsoft Teams enables its users to use text, sound and video in real-time conversations, and to hold online meetings. The application also shows the users’ availability status, which is based on their online calendars and manual settings.
You can use the service with Microsoft Teams software. It can be installed to PCs, Macs and most smart devices. The software has been pre-installed to the Windows workstations maintained by the ICT Services.

The IT services will acquire a workstation or laptop and a telephone for a new employee at the request of the faculty. The devices are acquired in accordance with the current enduser device productization. The secretary of a unit or the superior of the new employee sends the procurement proposal to servicedesk (at) luc.fi.
Workstations in the teaching premises are purchased by Data Administration and the ICT Services as required and according to the lifecycle model.
ICT Services replaces the staff workstations according to the five-year lifecycle model.
Software purchases are made in cooperation with the ICT Services and the faculty teachers. Software in our ICT classrooms is renewed once a year, if needed.
