About
LUMA Centre Lapland aims to inspire and motivate children and young people to study topics in natural sciences, mathematics, technology and information technology. We belong to the Faculty of Education of University of Lapland. LUMA Centre Lapland is part of a national network of LUMA Centres called LUMA Centre Finland, which is led according to a common strategy.
In collaboration with different partners, we support and promote teaching and learning of LUMA subjects from kindergarten to university and work to increase interest among young people in topics related to them. Through development work and research we are constantly searching for new and innovative ways to accomplish our goals. LUMA Centre Lapland is closely connected to the sustainability and outdoor oriented teacher training and the science centre Arktikum.
