Welcome to the annual Finnish Conference of Vocational and Professional Education Research 9.–10.11.2022 to Rovaniemi, Lapland!
The theme of the conference is "Future skills and competencies – equality in the age of digitalization". The changing working life in the age of digitalization means that the ways we learn and work are changing as well. The conference will consider what these changes require from education: What kind of skills are needed in continuous learning? How can we ensure equality in technology-based distance learning? How do people maintain and develop their competence during lifelong careers? How will the future competence requirements and equality be taken into consideration in university of applied sciences education and vocational education?
These and many other current themes will be addressed at the conference. The conference program includes keynote and invitation lectures, round table discussions, parallel sessions and panel discussions. Come and join other researchers and developers from universities, universities of applied sciences, vocational schools and working life partners! The conference is the most significant event of the year presenting vocational education and training and its research.
The conference in Rovaniemi is organized by the three local major educational institutions in collaboration, i.e. University of Lapland, Lapland university of applied sciences and the vocational education institution in Rovaniemi; Lapland Education Center REDU.
Did you know that the annual Finnish Conference on Vocational and Professional Education Research has been held since 1990 on the initiative of the Finnish Vocational Education Research Association (FiVERA) in cooperation with other operators on the field? This year FiVERA is celebrating its 30th birthday and it’s our pleasure to announce that the best scientific articles of the conference will be compiled into the theme issue of the Journal of Professional and Vocational Education (JPVE) that will be published in 2023!
