Thematic doctoral education was established to boost the research profile of our university: the multidisciplinary research we conduct in the programme strengthens the key areas of the profile. We have doctoral students from all faculties the programme, forming communities of vivid multidisciplinary discourse as doctoral students share experiences of courses and research interests.
In the thematic programme, there is a set of thematic studies (20 ECTS) that belongs to the doctoral degree. Thematic studies will offer to you a multidisciplinary knowledge base for inspiring your learning and also career planning. Thematic studies in your doctoral degree are demonstrable, as you will receive a certificate with your PhD diploma about the content of the thematic studies and their relevance to employers interested in highly skilled employees.
The Graduate School organises thematic studies for the programme (20 ECTS). We also organise the courses for the degree block Philosophy of research and general research skills (20 ECTS) – often in our everyday language referred to as joint studies.
