Research funding and Partnership platforms

Lapland University Consortium (LUC) is subscribed to Research Professional, an online database of research funding opportunities and a source of international research policy and practice news from around the world.

The database includes a comprehensive list of national, European, and international funding opportunities from a variety of funders such as funding agencies, universities, companies, foundations, etc. Open calls from EU Framework Programs via Finnish Ministries and the Regional Council of Lapland are also included.

Research Professional also contains a database of conferences and calls for papers, and this service is available for researchers, scholars, and students seeking opportunities to present and publish their research, or to announce their own event and/or call for papers.

This subscription allows staff and students of ULapland free login access to the service, which also provides up-to-date news and analysis on international research policy and practices. Research Professional simplifies browsing for research funding opportunities covering all scholarly discipline, and enables you to search for available content, save searches, articles and bookmarks, as well as setup e-mail alerts to stay informed about new funding opportunities and share this information with colleagues.

Login

University of Lapland users can log in easily using their own ULapland e-mail address (as username) and regular ulapland network password.

To do so, visit the Research Professional login page and under Log in with your university account, select Lapland from the dropdown list. Afterwards, click Log in and follow the remaining instructions.

Once logged-in you can move on to editing your profile or e-mail alerts by selecting the My Profile button (top right).

Groups

To facilitate the flow of relevant materials and searches across the consortium, a hierarchical structure is maintained within our institutional Research Professional profile, where various faculties, units, and expertise groups at ULapland and Lapland UAS are included. Through this, each institution and group identify the opportunities that they wish to prioritise.

When Logged-in, see the top right corner of a page and select a blue triangle to view each working group. You can join any group by pressing the Join this group button at the top.

Crowdhelix is an online platform that forges links between an international network of researchers and innovating companies (i.e. universities; business; and research organizations), so they can plan and deliver pioneering collaborative projects via EU funding proposals such as Horizon Europe.

Lapland University Consortium (LUC) has a membership in Crowdhelix, offering all researchers and support staff at ULapland and Lapland UAS access to the platform where they can post individual profiles, search for expertise for a particular call, as well as announce and respond to collaboration opportunities to target joint funding.

Crowdhelix has over 500 organization members in 51 countries, and the platform is organised into research themes (‘helixes’) that are aligned with the Horizon Europe clusters and missions. Over 7,000+ collaborators are currently involved in these thematic Helixes.

Helix Events

Taking in varying format (virtually, face-to-face, or a hybrid of both), Crowdhelix hosts a range of Helix events held regularly across Europe. These events often include plenaries from official EU representatives as well as brokerage / consortium-building sessions focused on specific EU funding calls.
