Study offerings and registration
Where do I find the study offerings?

The cross-institutional studies are compiled in the study guides of the LUC universities. The study guide includes information on the study unit and the related implementations. You can view the study guides by clicking the links below:

  • Lapland UAS Study Guide (link)
  • University of Lapland Study Guide (link)

In the study guide, you can view the upcoming implementations for each study unit offered cross-institutionally, as well instructions on how to register for them. Further information on registration is available in the further information field of the implementation in question. Please note that the LUC registration period may differ from the normal registration period indicated within the implementation, so it is advisable to double check this information via the Applicant’s desktop.

How/where to register for cross-institutional studies?

You can register for study units offered cross-institutionally via the Applicant’s desktop of the institution offering the study unit. In order to find the study offerings of the university in question, under “Study selection”, select “LUC studies” or "LUC studies YO". You can also enter registration via the link in the further information field of each implementation. If you need support, please contact ristiinopiskelu@luc.fi.

I am an exchange student at the Lapland UAS. Can I study courses at the University of Lapland, too?
Yes, you can. The cross-institutional studies are open to all degree students and exchange students of the Lapland University of Applied Sciences. Naturally, this also applies the other way around, i.e. exchange students at the university can study cross-institutional studies at the university of applied sciences.
Right to study and user credentials
Will I be granted a right to study at the other university after registering for cross-institutional studies?

Yes. Information on the new right to study is displayed in Peppi on the Student’s desktop of the university in question. The Student’s desktop is accessible in Peppi via the icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. The Student’s desktop of the other university will become available to you in Peppi once your right to study has been created. There you can also view your study attainments and download a transcript of records. You can log in using your home institution’s credentials.

If you are not eligible to pursue LUC cross-institutional studies, you will not be granted a right to study, regardless of any confirmation of registration that may already have been received. A right to study can be cancelled also if you have not indicated that you have a valid email address of your home institution.

Do I need user credentials of the other university?
No, you don’t. You can use the user credentials of your home institution, as they also work in the shared systems of the LUC universities. You can access, for example, Peppi and Moodle with them. The other university’s Student’s desktop will be accessible to you in Peppi for the duration of your right to study.
Completing cross-institutional studies
What do the studies consist of? What are the course requirements? Will teaching take place online or face-to-face?
Information on the content of study units is available in the study unit or implementation descriptions. Further information on the content of the course and teaching is available by contacting the teacher in charge of the course.
Where do I find the teaching schedules and further instructions concerning the study units?

Study schedules and study unit descriptions are available in Peppi and/or Lukkarikone (timetables). Please check the schedules regularly for possible changes.

After successful registration for a course unit, the Moodle workspace of the study unit will become accessible to you 6 days before the start of the course. You will be added automatically to the study units for which you have registered. Sometimes the teacher in charge of a study unit may send additional information prior to the start of the course to the participants by email. It is therefore important that you check your university email account (ulapland.fi/edu.lapinamk.fi) regularly.

If you cannot access the Moodle workspace when the course is about to start or if you have not received an email with the necessary information for accessing the workspace, please contact the teacher in charge of the course by email. Also, if you have any other questions concerning the content and assessment methods of a course, please contact the teacher. The form of the university email addresses is firstname.lastname@ulapland.fi for the University of Lapland, and firstname.lastname@lapinamk.fi for the Lapland UAS.

How can I view the other university’s information in Tuudo?

You cannot be logged in the Tuudo app from two universities simultaneously on the same device. If you want to view the information of the other university in Tuudo, you must first log out and then log in again and select the other university as your organization.

Where do I find the other university’s examinarium?

If a study unit includes a possibility to take an exam in the examinarium (via the EXAM system), see the instructions here:

After completing cross-institutional studies
I can’t find my cross-institutional study attainment in Peppi. How can I access it?
In Peppi, click the icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to change to the Student’s desktop view of the university where you completed the study unit. Your study attainment should be displayed there.
Where can I get a transcript of records displaying the study attainment I have completed?
You can download your transcript of records via the Student’s desktop of the university responsible for the study unit in question. Change to the Student’s desktop view of the university where you completed the study unit by clicking the icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen in Peppi. In order to view the Student’s desktop, you must have a valid right to study at the institution in question. Please make sure that you download your transcript of records within the validity period of your right to study. You can view your study attainments also via My Studyinfo.
What should I do to have my study attainment entered in the register of my home institution?
Apply for credit transfer of the studies completed at the other university according to the instructions provided by your home institution. Attach your transcript of records or a link to your study attainments in My Studyinfo to the application.
I have completed the entrepreneurship studies partly at the Lapland UAS and partly at the University of Lapland. How can I get a certificate that shows that I have completed the whole study module?

Apply for credit transfer of the studies completed at the Lapland UAS according to the instructions provided by the University of Lapland. After this, the studies you have completed can be compiled into one study module in the faculty office. If you are a student at the Open University, a separate certificate can be obtained by contacting the Open University.
