Dissertation: A Pedagogical model helps digital game-based learning in primary mathematics education

In her doctoral dissertation, MA Liping Sun explores and expands on the theoretical and pedagogical approaches that explicates digital game-based learning. Sun developed a pedagogical model for digital game-based learning which can help primary mathematics teachers to design a creative and innovative pedagogical practice that support pupils’ learning activities and outcomes in mathematics.

University of Lapland renewed the Green Office certificate and calculated the carbon footprint

This autumn, the University of Lapland has conducted an evaluation of the WWF Green Office criteria, based on which the University of Lapland's campus meets the criteria. University of Lapland's Working Group on the Environment also calculated the carbon footprint. In 2022, the university's operations produced an estimated carbon emission of 3,652 tons.

Virtual reality helps effectively develop occupational safety skills

In a joint research project, the University of Lapland and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health developed a model for occupational safety training utilising virtual reality and based on simulation teaching. Draft proposal for Sámi tourism businesses certification criteria is ready

University of Lapland receives substantial SRC funding for research on just green transition in the Arctic
