Faculty of Social Sciences provides studies in various social scientific major and minor subjects with strong national profiles.
Our versatile faculty trains ten percent of the social scientists in Finland. Our graduates find employment within public administration, teaching and expert positions, research, business life, commerce and industry, and organisations in Finland and abroad.
Our open-minded approach to research generates valuable knowledge for the development of society. We operate actively in Northern Finland as well as the rest of the country and abroad.

We offer competitive social scientific education, which is organised in four degree programmes. They have altogether seven major subjects: Administrative Sciences, Leadership Psychology, Management, Political Sciences, Social Work, Sociology and Tourism Research.

We have a versatile and extensive selection of minor studies for you to choose from; you can take minor studies in the nineteen minor subjects we offer, but also in our seven major subjects.
Many of our courses can be completed by taking an exam. You can sit book exams on general examination days approximately once a month, or take them in your own time in the electronic exam service.
