Methodology studies

All degree programmes at our university include methodology studies, which cover the topics of scientific information retrieval, philosophy of science and research methodology. You will continue to develop these skills in your major studies.

Our multidisciplinary teaching will provide you with the competence to search, process and analyse data, support for conducting research and readiness to work in expert tasks. You will also learn to understand the research process and assess other people’s research work analytically.

Faculty of Education and Faculty of Social Sciences

The methodology studies offered at the Faculties of Education and Social Sciences are divided in three sections:

1) general introductory courses
2) quantitative research and statistics
3) qualitative research.

Faculty of Art and Design

General methodology courses for art students include Philosophy of Science, and Art, Design and Research in subject studies, and Research Topics of Art and Design in advanced studies. In addition, you can take programme-specific methodology courses. Aside from providing you with competence in research methodology, the studies will improve your ability to have philosophical conversations in the area of art.
