Environmental Humanities and Environmental Social Sciences examines environmental issues through multiple point of views. The studies enhance students' competence to understand and analyse local and world-wide environmental issues, as well as their causes and effects. They focus on northern environmental issues and their societal dimensions.
The scope of the studies is 60 credits, including basic (25 cr.) and subject studies (35 cr.). The studies are organised in collaboration with the University of Oulu.
This module is a good minor subject for students majoring in Tourism Research, Sociology and Political Sciences, but it is useful also for others interested in northern politics and the conservation of nature.
Note! The module is taught in Finnish.
