Studies in the degree programme enable you to explore management from a multidisciplinary perspective. They combine the disciplines of marketing and management, leadership psychology with the focus on organisational management, and the social scientific approach to business management.
Our teaching is based on internationally competitive research that seeks to predict the development of the changing world and work. Our students are integrated into our academic community that is specialised in working life oriented research and development.
Our major subjects include Administrative Science, Management and Leadership Psychology. The studies in different majors complement each other and are partly joint, particularly at the beginning of the studies. You will choose your major in the course of your second year of study.
After graduation you can work in a range of development and expert tasks related to management and administration.
Please note that the degree programme is offered in Finnish.
In your studies you will look at the current issues in the management and administration of public, non-profit and private organisations. You will become familiar with organisational change, service design, information and knowledge management, as well as assessment and development of organisational activity. The studies will also introduce you to national and international administration systems and the social role of the public sector.
The diverse and universal nature of administrative science makes it a useful minor subject. Through your studies you will learn to assess administration, develop work communities and public management, and understand knowledge-based organisational activity, management of cooperation networks and the phenomena of decision-making.
The different areas of study comprise a comprehensive view to the most important topical themes of administrative development and research. You have an excellent chance to focus e.g. on the special issues of digitalising administration and personnel management. You can tailor your degree with minor subjects, areas of specialisation, an internship and studies abroad.
Read more about the studies in the Study Guide.
Leadership Psychology combines organisational psychology with management and administrative sciences, and is a unique major in the Finnish university establishment. You will graduate to be an expert of psychology with a wide-ranging competence in the development, management and research of changing work. Our study methods are characterised by experiential learning and facilitation.
One of the most important aspects of modern-day work and management is understanding the members of a work community and their experiences. For this reason Leadership Psychology is a good choice for a minor for all students interested in human relations work.
In addition to providing you with competence in HR management and development, Leadership Psychology equips you for understanding and facilitating challenging interactions, such as intragroup conflicts and problems in work communities. Your minor studies, internship and studies abroad enable you tailor your degree according to your interests.
Management studies enable you to observe business in terms of management and marketing. You will explore particularly the topics of strategy, and management and marketing practices. You will learn to look at business from a critical, social scientific point of view that sees ethics, ecology and business as part of the wider operational environment of society.
It is possible to take Management as a minor subject. Our studies are aimed at all students who wish to acquire the essential skills needed in organisational development and the business world.
The studies underline the importance of analysing your own actions as a part of responsible business management. We also emphasise aesthetics, ethics, ecology, and customer experiences as the key competitive factors in business.
