Rehabilitation Science is an interdisciplinary subject that belongs to social sciences. It focuses on the functional ability, ability to work, life management and social coping of people, as well as the factors, procedures and systems that influence these abilities.
The studies explore topics such as maintaining the ability to work, rehabilitation and disability services of seriously disabled children and adults, rehabilitation assessment and planning, management of rehabilitation organisations and projects, and evaluation research in the field.
The scope of the studies is 25 credits (basic studies). Rehabilitation Science offers valuable perspective to those students who aim to pursue careers in expert tasks within social and health care.
For students who have already started their studies, Rehabilitation Science is offered as a major subject in the academic year 2016–2017. Note! The module is taught in Finnish.
